Unveiled in the summer of 2009 the Discovery 4 is an upgraded version of the Discovery 3. It is available in 2.7L TDV6, 3.0L TDV6, 3.0L SDV6 and 5.0L V8 engines. Like its predecessor the Discovery 4 also features the Terrain Response system that is unique in the Land Rover range. This intelligent system makes the car absolutely versatile and brilliant to drive on and off-road.

The Discovery 4 comes across as the ideal SUV for drivers who want the best of both worlds - from everyday normal driving to treacherous off-road conditions. To its credit the Discovery 4 has always won the Auto Express categories of Best Large SUV and Best Towcar since its launch in 2009.

The Discovery 4 receives an exterior styling update for the 2014 models which includes new badging and the addition of a new fuel saving technology for its V6 turbodiesel engine which will improve fuel economy from 32.1mpg to 35.3mpg. The 3.0-litre SDV6 diesel is currently the only engine option. The 2014 model will also come with a new premium audio system plus a host of new Land Rover technology.
